Leg with/without claw

The hind tibia bears one or several stout spines. The lower end of the tibia has a circlet of black-tipped spines (planthoppers also have a moveble spur).

Wing

Cicadomorpha have two pairs of large wings with characteristic pattern of veins.The wings are usually transparent, but those of some species are colored and patterned. There are small dpressions along the veins.

The antenna are stout and cyylindrical and bear a terminal bristle.

Other, hemelytra, egg

The forewings are modified, hardened near the base, but membranous at the ends (hemelytra). The hemelytra have distinctive depressions on their surfaces.
